About Cameron

Four decades of craftsmanship, collaboration and helping people present the artwork that matters most.

For Cameron Coutts, framing has never simply been about making a frame.

It's about understanding the artwork, the story behind it and how it will be experienced for years to come.

Before entering the framing industry, Cameron studied sculpture, ceramics and jewellery making, developing an appreciation for craftsmanship, materials and design that continues to influence his work today.

He later owned and operated West Coast Picture Framers for 18 years, training many of the framers who continue to work throughout Perth today.

Today, Cameron works from his private East Fremantle studio, offering custom framing, artwork installation and collaborative consultations for artists, collectors, businesses and homeowners seeking a more personal approach.

A Collaborative Approach

Every artwork is different.

Some pieces carry significant financial value. Others hold memories that simply can't be replaced.

Rather than offering the same solution for every project, Cameron works collaboratively with clients to explore framing options that complement both the artwork and the space it will live in.

With a keen eye for colour, balance and presentation, every recommendation is made with the aim of enhancing the artwork while helping to preserve and protect it for the future.

Experience That Makes A Difference

With four decades of experience in custom framing and artwork installation, Cameron has worked on everything from contemporary artwork and Aboriginal art to photography, textiles, heirlooms and exhibition installations.

His experience extends beyond framing itself, incorporating artwork placement, gallery walls, professional hanging systems and advice on presenting artwork within homes, businesses and exhibition spaces.

Clients deal directly with Cameron throughout the entire process, ensuring clear communication, continuity and a genuinely personal service.

Part of the Fremantle Community

Working from East Fremantle has allowed Cameron to build long-standing relationships with local artists, galleries, collectors, businesses and homeowners.

Many clients return over the years as their collections grow, while others are introduced through personal recommendations.

These relationships continue to shape the collaborative, appointment-based studio that Fremantle Picture Framers is today.
